Vastu – North East (NE) – Ideal Rooms and Remedies for Defects

Eshaan Corner. One of the Cardinal directions impacting the Vastu & Energy of the House. It signifies the energy that enhances the brain & thinking power.

Significance – Divinity, Wisdom, Stability, Career

Ideal NE

• Prayer room, Living Room, Entrance, Underground water tank and Open spaces.
• Living room in the NE with flooring lower than the entire house is beneficial.
• Keep NE light, clutter free with no heavy structure or construction
• Domestic water can be drained out in NE corner

Prayer Room Guidelines

• Room doors and windows should be in North or East.
• Shrine must be made of wood or marble.
• Shrine must not be kept on floor, keep a foundation underneath the temple if there is no other option.
• No auto closure door allowed.
• Door must not be made of Iron or Tin.
• Place the lamp in south east corner of the Shrine, in a height lower than the idol.
• Paint the walls of the room in white, light blue or light grey colours.
• No images of ancestors / departed souls in the Shrine.
• No dustbin in Prayer room.

If Shrine is in bedroom, dressing room or store room;

• Cover the shrine except during time of prayers.
• Shrine should not be placed in front of mirror.
• Close /Cover the Shrine before you go to sleep.
• Daily prayers is recommended.

Living room – Guidelines

• Keep electronics like television / music system in the Southeast corner.
• Place Coolers or air-conditioners in the West.
• Tiles or the colour of the walls should be white, blue or light grey. Avoid red or black.
• Avoid triangular, hexagonal or odd shaped furniture.
• Avoid chandelier in the centre of the room; hang them towards the South.
• The room should be lit brightly.
• The head of the family should face the East or in the North direction.
• Guests must be seated in the Northwest portion of the room with door visible to visitors.

Paintings Guidelines

• North wall – paintings/ pictures of waterfalls.
• East wall – a painting of the rising sun.
• South and West walls – paintings of high rise mountains with heavy plant life.
• Portraits of birds, animals, women, weeping children, scenes from the wars should NOT be displayed.

Entrance – Door Guidelines

• The length of the door should be twice its width.
• Recommended size is 1m (3 feet) in width and 2.1m (7 feet) in height.
• The Door should open inwards and to the right.
• Color/ Repair any cracks on the door or the doorframe.

Kitchen in the Northeast – Remedies

• Best Remedy – Shift the kitchen to the Southeast or Northwest corner of the house.
• Another option is to shift the cooking stove to the Southeast corner of the present kitchen and face east while cooking.
• Avoid keeping anything in the NE corner of the present kitchen.
• If windows are present in NE keep them open always or install an exhaust fan with a round hole for ventilation.
• Extend NE corner towards east or north, if possible with a wash area, balcony or a prayer room.
• Keep a distance of 3 feet between the kitchen stove and sink if they are on the same platform. If not, place a cluster of crystal rocks on the platform between both.
• Move the Shrine if it is above the kitchen sink. If cannot, then place a crystal Shreeyantra in the temple and/ or install a yellow light bulb.
• Move the Shrine if it is above the cooking gas/ stove.
• Water storage tank above the kitchen or in Southeast or anywhere in the kitchen can cause ill health. To negate the effects, hang a 50 mm crystal on four corners of the kitchen ceiling.
• Paint the kitchen light blue, white or the NE wall with blue to create water energy.

Toilet in the Northeast – Remedies

Toilets should be avoided in the NE, North and East. If not possible, following are few remedies;

• Keep camphor crystals in the toilet to remove negative energy.
• Install a small yellow/ blue light in the toilet.
• Place handful of sea raw salt in a bowl in the toilet & change it when it turns soggy.
• Always keep the door closed.
• Keep the toilet seat closed when not in use.
• Repair all leaking taps.

Bedroom in the Northeast – Remedies

• Place the bed in southwest of the room.
• Keep the NE space empty.
• Follow Generic Remedies mentioned below.

Northeast of house is cut – Remedies

• Change the residence if severe health issues have affected the family.
• Light a blue bulb or paint the wall light blue in portion of NE.
