Vastu – Black Hole & Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad

Vastu – Black Hole & Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad

I find it captivating that a lot that science states today, has been mentioned in Indian Scriptures eons back.

John Archibald Wheeler, an American physicist, was the first one to describe an area of space which was “empty” and which “swallowed everything” including light.

Pierre-Simon Laplace and John Mitchell, in 18th century, stated that such objects existed where the gravitational force is so great that light cannot escape and is called “black stars” or “cold stars“.

This has been mentioned in the Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad (the Māṇḍūkya Upaniṣad, composed approx. 2000 BCE, shortest of all the Upanishads, assigned to Atharvaveda) as Vishwaruchi, which absorbs everything in the universe – Black Hole

Black hole which was considered to be science curiosity till first half of 20th century, got acceptance of its existence, in the last couple of decades by the scientific community

A black hole enormous gravitational pull is strong enough to even hold the light in it and nothing can escape a black hole. Escape velocity from the weak earth’s gravity is about 7 miles per second. Light travels at about 186282 miles per second. Even this velocity is not enough to get light out of the gravitational pull of a black hole. The only thing we know that is capable of travelling faster than light is a quantum particle called Tachyon. Even this has been described in the Māṇḍūkya Upanishad as Manojava.

Almost every galaxy in our universe has a black hole in its centre. They are voracious eaters and swallow anything that comes close. Some of them are vast, measuring thousands of light years across with a mass equivalent to millions of suns and some of them are miniscule rogue Black Holes wandering the interstellar space.

On a lighter note, micro miniscule rogue Black Holes exist around us in human form too, am sure some of you have an immediate flash of that persons face☺
