It has been a fascinating journey of almost 2 decades of reading about #AncientTemples & #Heritage structures.
Grandeur, breathtaking beauty & some of them in their simple ancientness taking one back in time.
Most high #energy ones surrounded by #nature
It is a fact that #Temples are/were #Energy uplifting structures based on certain purpose of the temple and the township.
They were made considering principles of #Vastu followed to the T.
Our ancestors were the masters of Geometric Design/Mandalas. Structural rules were followed based on many Sanskrit ancient texts.
Deployment of construction plan/material was decided based on certain parameters. Specific Alignments were made based on the location of the temple. Circles and Squares were prevalent.
There is much more however todays post is to share about a #Temple that is fascinating
World Heritage–listed #Prambanan or Rara Jonggrang a 9th-century temple compound is one of a kind. It is located in Yogyakarta, #Indonesia.
It is characterised by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Indian Architecture, and by the towering 47-metre-high (154 ft) central building inside a large complex of 244 individual temples.
Dedicated to the Trimurti Brahma Vishnu Mahesh, Prambanan’s architecture conforms to Hindu architectural traditions based on the Vastu Shastra
The highlight is the central compound, where eight main and eight minor temples are assembled on a raised platform – an architectural crescendo of carved masonry and staircases, the high note of which is Candi Shiva Mahadeva.
